Well this actually sounds like a good idea. Zelda doesn't do as well in general in Japan and even traditional Nintendo big-hitters have been struggling there, so Zelda probably isn't going to be a great holiday game and if there's anything that can help tempt them to a Wii U maybe it's one of the games that have done really well there recently like Animal Crossing, rather than Mario or Zelda. And if Animal Crossing games generally hit Japan first before the West then making it a holiday release in Japan then early 2016 for the West is probably the best option, since I'm pretty sure everyone will be too busy with Zelda (and possibly some of the other 2015 games) to care about not getting Animal Crossing.

But of course that makes it pretty likely that won't be what Nintendo will do...
