So looking at the first 3 Q's of shipments for 3DS and XB1 we get a healthy lead for XB1 (770k)
XB1:
1st Q - 1.1m
2nd Q - 550k (estimate)
3rd Q - 1.8m (estimate)
Total - 3.45m
3DS:
1st Q - 0.59m
2nd Q - 0.82m
3rd Q - 1.27m
Total - 2.68m
Last year 3DS did 7.76m in the holiday Q. It is however down in the US Oct + Nov 569k. With Dec sales yet to be reported (likely down another 400k~)
Japan sales are roughly flat, just down a little (50k).
Europe as always is hard to tell but it follows trends from US more than it does Japan.
Also 3DS shipments have been down around 50% all 3 Q's this year. Whilst I don't expect that to be the case this holiday (that'd be 7.7m to 3.8m~) I do expect a big dip, it makes sense given all the data.
Also hard to say what MS may have shipped but VGC sales as of now suggest around 12m+ shipped by end of 2014. That's about 4.5m for the holiday season.
