The latter one is actually interesting. Looks like no one knows Bayonettas budget, so in theory Nintendo could already be making money. And that wouldn't be a flop.
About actual sales, niche game still sold at full price and still pulling decent numbers. It should be around 550K at the end of 2014 and keep on selling at low numbers for some time at full price.
That said, keep in mind that right now Nintendo is making a sequel of Xenoblade. Likely much more expensive with sales under 1 million. So Bayonetta 2 might be not onlya a financial succsess (we dont know that) but also get another sequel.
