I wish I had picked up one of the 1080p S-class plasmas in 2013 before Panasonic retired them. Now only Samsung and LG still make plasmas but they aren't as good as Panasonic's were (or the legendary Pioneer Kuro series), and they are both set to retire them soon as well. |
I'll go you one better, my VT series :) Plasmas are great for gaming, it really is a shame there are going/gone. Can't wait for large, affordable OLED.
The final VTs (and the model above) were actually rated better than the Kuros in many respects.

Ooo, I'm jelly!
Though I still would have probably went with the S series as it was the more affordable option... the 50"1080p model was around $700 at some places before they retired it. I remember the VT series being closer to a grand or more.

In the latest series the ST was very good value and as good as the VT of 1-2 generations ago, but I have mine in a fairly bright room so the anti-reflective layer in the VT was nearly necessary for me.
BTW damn you Americans and your cheap prices :P I got my 55" VT for a 'bargain'. It had just been released and I managed to score 25% off, only cost me $2500.......
