Yeah, but Call of Duty, Watchdogs, and even Ninja Gaiden has that mainstream appeal. Both sold like crap on the system. This should tell you how bad the system is doing. Playstation/Sony kills it when appealing to everybody. Xbox is a dude bro system. Almost every cute RARE game sold like shit, except for KINECT sports which build off of the motion control fad started by the Wii. Even then you don't have a lot of cute games on those systems that sell well regardless of its quality.
I don't see how Retro's game will be ambitious or unique if it is going to appeal to mainstream gamers who play nothing but Call of Duty, GTA, and Sports games. That sounds terrible, lol. Nintendo is not going to appeal to these kinds of people. It might be appealing to me and you, but not the mainstream public.
I honestly don't care about that stuff though- dark or cute, demographics, sales, motion controls, ''ambition'', etc. If the game is great I will buy it regardless of what system it is on. None of that matters or should matter. The only problem I have is the total disregard of a game that doesn't even exist in favor for problems that doesn't necessarily concern people other than the company unless you are just not into racing, cuteness, and platformers or you work for the company personally.
