We got Bioshock and Batman which are Metroid Prime esque, countless indie titles with Metroidvania type gameplay, and Ubisofts Rayman countering DK. Possibly a DKR sequel countering Sonic (which was greatly influenced by Diddy Kong by the way).
TBH, it would be interesting to see what they can do with their own racing genre since they have already explored first person adventure games and 2D platformers. I don't see that as waste since there is only two types of games that are like that regardless of what system. A 3D platformer would also be interesting.
