Nothing against Diddy Kong Racing - but there is already a very decent fun racer on the Wii U with Mario Kart 8.

But the U lacks a very good FPS and/or FP exploration game utilizing WiiMote/Nunchuck.

I always wondered why Ubi did spent money on WatchDogs U instead of making a RedSteel 3. Those who wanted to play WD did already 6 months earlier on the other consoles or PC. But there is only one console which is capable of running RedSteel 3...

Aside that: "wasted talent" - yep. They showed their talent in revitalizing Donkey Kong Country while retaining the old feel. But that was something "easy" compared to rethinking Prime while retaining the original feel. This is because it is THEIR IP. You need to be really a master to "let off" some of your own thoughts and concepts...

Whats speaks for another Prime is that Retro offered a job in AI programming a time ago. Something which fits more Prime than Diddy Kong Racing...

True. I would love to see another Prime or an FPS for Wii U by Retro, but I am not necessarily up for a FPS in an industry filled with them regardless of the system. Another Prime or FPS would be much easier than a genre Retro isn't completely used to (MK7 notwithstanding). For Nintendo standards, a FPS would be interesting no doubt.

We just need to keep our expectations low instead of keeping it unnecessarily high, or otherwise it is going to be ''another f*****g Donkey Kong'' moment. That sort of outcry was very childish, and it is something I don't want to see again. All that we should expect from Retro is another excellent game no matter how ''ambitious'' it is or not.
