Then you haven't been listening. ^_^
Ness, Yoshi, and Kirby are back up in power from Melee. None are quite as monstrous as they were in the original, but they're much better. Zelda's Din's Fire went from semi-useful/useless to "OMG WTF!?" Most of Zelda's normal moves were powered up or at least kept the same. Sheik's daggers are better too. Even Bowser is now usable in Brawl.
So I do talk about non-nerfy things about Brawl, it's the nerfy things that bother me the most. Peach's many nerfs bother me since I really like her in Melee. Sheik's original godly "YOU DIE NOW" aerial chop is no longer quite as powerful. You get the idea.
