1. The easy solution is to follow up after your opponent has been knocked off stage. I've rarely had problems with opponents constantly come back as long as I followed through with the proper moves to guarantee a KO. Follow up and read your opponents.
2. Yeah the AI's difficulty is largely superficial, amiibos are a bit better. Really if you want to practice for getting better, I think human opponents are really your only option. It's much different fighting other people than fighting AIs in every game.
3. Counters have been buffed but not all counters are the same. The best counter I think is Marth's and Lucina's since it's fairly quick, but they have their limitations. Counters especially with counter spammers are very easy to predict since they usually rely on you rushing down with extremely powerful moves, counter that with using a lot of grabs and their entire strategy falls to bits. Or better yet, read the counter and follow up.
4. I am confused how you came to this conclusion... Defence is more viable but that doesn't make offensive play useless.
5. This is true, they should have at least added a few Smashville or Battefield like stages.
6. Many other fighting games have a similar system like Tekken and Persona 4 Arena and I haven't really noticed anything game breaking or unbalancing with this system except for Lucario. It rewards players at high% who make good reads and combos. If you know when to take damage and when to deliver it you can use this system to lead an advantage like two stocking your opponent or laying off massive damage before losing your own.
7. It doesn't seem much different than Fox and Falco dominating Melee or Meta Knight and Snake in Brawl. Smash's top tiers have always been rather unbalanced but it doesn't make the rest of the cast useless. Overall I think the characters in Smash 4 are pretty well balanced compared to Melee and Brawl.
8. Yeah, it's a shame.
9. Maybe, the only thing I think sticks out the most is there is no Adventure mode and all the stages being reused.
10. Why is this a negative? I think Namco did a solid job and a whole it seems the playerbase is much happier with the result that we got from Smash 4 then what we got with Brawl. I don't think I like the game as much as Melee but I think they put in a great effort to make an enjoyable game.
