Nope, they must do a new Metroid title. Fans can't stop requesting it; http://kotaku.com/shigeru-miyamoto-we-have-an-answer-to-your-question-1597993025 Retro itself has said they want to showcase Wii U's power: http://au.ign.com/articles/2014/02/28/wii-u-is-a-powerhouse-says-donkey-kong-country-developer I don't think they like the idea of investing resources on a new IP, so using an existing Nintendo franchise it's more probable. Only Metroid has the chances of doing that. |
Ok so what do they do, Metroid Prime 4?? Continuation of a series thats been dead since 09. Or do they reboot the series again, even if they take a similar approach to the Prime Trilogy. Are they even capable of making an epic game like this in HD?? I mean they are a rather small studio for such a large project and since the Prime Trilogy ended they have lost some rather key members of the team.
Personally I think they would be better off moving on to something new and not being held to a previous standard I dont think they can live up to.
