I think that E3 Treehouse helped a lot too. Every single game announced helps the Wii U as people are more assured what kind of gameplay and controller utilization they will get.

 

The latter one was one - and STILL IS - the single biggest failure in Wii Us history. 

 

I know that this is one of my "more exclusive" views. But the sales numbers somehow tell I'm onto something: 

Wii Sports Resort sold over 30 Mio. copies at the end of the Wiis life

 

That means that for 30 Mio. people motion control isn't a fad. Quite the opposite: motion control is THE SINGLE BIGGEST REASON to play.

Too bad Wii Sports Club came to late and wasn't promoted accordingly to those who had a Wii. At that time the Wiis Nintendo channel wasn't working anymore...

 

If Nintendo manages to "upgrade" only a third  (!!) of those to a Wii U the situation will change drastically at this would essentially double the installed base...
