Haven't you ever heard people draw comparisons between the long lived companies of Nintendo and Disney? Sometimes the perception of a limited eddition helps to drive demand, and what better way to drive that kind of demand than to let your limit be a perception only... bear in mind I'm talking strictly about Disney here.

I have no problem with that.  Disney re-releasing their movies later under a limited edition title is no different than Nintendo re-releasing their games later with a different title such as Star Fox 64 3D or Wind Waker HD.  Companies can re-release their products 10 years down the line, I have no problem with that.  Pretty sure I've bought every Nintendo game that has done that.
