Well Nintendo isn't ditching the two screens, so it wouldn't really make sense to ditch the DS branding when they don't need to. That's why I think they'll just call the next thing the Fusion DS or something. The focus of the branding is on the shared brand "fusion" rather then the specifying brand "DS."
And when I say Fusion, I'm just referring to whatever brand they glue to there new NNID platform. What "i" is to "iOS." iPhone and iPad. Fusion DS and Fusion Terminal. They could call it anything. Even if the Fusion rumors are true, I doubt they'd stick with that name anymore since it's been spoiled now. Which stinks because Fusion is such an exellent brand name.
EDIT: And people need to quit it with the Gameboy thing. That brand is dead and the DS brand has housed much better games.
