Does anyone still think (those who originally did) that Microsoft deserve praise for reversing their DRM policies last year?
They had to do it. That's why they did it. It was either that, or go under.

Some people cited the "We listen to our fans" comment, as reason for the change.
If that's true, why didn't they show the slightest sign of willingness to listen to all the fans pleas before pre-order numbers for PS4 went viral?
What about the US troops overseas, or anyone who doesn't have a permanent or stable internet connection?
"Stick to 360" was basically the reply we got.

After the changes, it still states that they "reserve the righst to change these decisions at any time."

In a world where Microsoft dominate the videogame industry and Sony aren't around to 'keep them in check', many of the things we know and love about gaming would be gone forever.  We wouldn't even be able to play our games offline during this Christmas when the PSN/XBL DDOSing was going on.

Every company wants to make money. But not every company is out to destroy what we love in the process.

It's clear that implementing these anti consumer policies is still something Microsoft wants to do. In spite of 'hearing what the fans want.'
I'd like to think this wasn't Phil Spencer's decision, because he's a gamer.
Whoever made these decisions can't be a gamer, or understand what it's like to be one. At least I hope not.

Many will say it was Mattrick, but he wasn't there anymore when XBox One released in China and they still took a shot at the anti-consumer policies.

Has to be above Spencer or Spencer isn't who we think. I am going to go with the former because I like the guy.
