This is a hard one to predict. IF it goes back to $400, it could see a huge repercussion from the bundles seen in Nov and Dec. The price cut was a desperate move and I'm guessing MS were willing to sell a ton to get the install base, go back to normal price and hold on until Halo releases. There will be a lot riding on Halo next year.
We might even see the X1 down YOY for the second half of the year. They had to rely on staying $50-$70 cheaper to outsell the PS4 in the US. IF they want a repeat of outselling the PS4 again and have high sales, they will have to hope that the PS4's price doesnt drop to $350. Do you think MS will be able to sell at $300-$280 with free games to outsell the PS4 again?
Personally I think the X1 will sell less next year because I anticipate the X1 not having that big of a price advantage over the PS4 like it had this year, plus a huge decline in January (I think they will go back to $400). But if the X1 can keep the $50 price advantage for large parts of the year, it will be up YOY.... surely!
