Even then... Look at how big the screen is compared to the bezel on the top and even the bottom... Going off focus shouldnt decrease the bezel and increase the screensize to that degree?

It would. It's a perspective thing. Think Lord Of The Rings size trick. It works on this the same way. The blurr is extending the screen edge outword. Which is making the screen look more closer to the buttons. You also have to account for different lens sizes. My camera is a 25mm lens. They could be using a 35 or more lens. This makes more area visible. But causes more fish eye destortion.
