Yes, we did... many 2004/2005 movies that were released in 2005/2006 on DVD were re-released a year later on HD DVD or Blu-ray... King Kong, Serenity, Sin City and many others.
The generation shift from VHS to DVD was similar... many movies that year were first released on VHS and 6 - 18 months later on DVD.
