In a way Destiny is a lot like Nintendo games. Very little story is actually told directly. Most of it you infer through the gameplay and objectives.

Yeah I know. But I can kind of see why they chose to not fill the game up with lots of cutscenes and text. It's just like Iwata said, people tend to skip those a lot, in particular when you are playing with friends in co-op. You want to get straight to the action. That's kind of what Destiny does because the whole game is built around co-op.
