Sony doesn't get a free pass...they are in the neutral zone (also known as the lesser evil). Microsoft as a company has always been known as a threat to anyone who is involved in anything they set out to monopolize. Luckily the courts broke apart the company into sectors. Because of the known proclivities of MS Phil Spencer has had to become more transparent in PR about the companies endeavors, which makes people feel the exact opposite way about a company they didnt trust. It doesn't put them at ease, it just makes the product more attractive, which is why I have one in my home.
