| Samus Aran said: Pokémon Battle Revolution didn't feature any new Pokémon and was overall very mediocre. The game scored 53% on metacritic. It was lucky to still sell this much... You're really underestimating the power of Pokémon. Obviously the game would need better graphics, that's a very redundant thing to say. Besides, Pokémon has deeper mechanics, which you obviously don't seem to understand. Don't worry about it, neither do I... Try battling online, you'll get pummeled if you don't know how to breed the perfect Pokémon. And no, the combat still looks silly in most modern action RPGs. Collision detection was just one tiny example. Even when you make contact with a weapon, it doesn't look remotely realistic. |
Pokemon battle Revolution was indeed mediocre but it has the trademarks of a console game ...
Graphics wasn't the ONLY thing I was vouching for. I asked Pokemon to be of console quality in general instead of straight up pushing the main series on the console. The Pokemon mechanics may seem deep but how where's the rest of the stuff such as more involved plot, relationships between trainer and pokemon or pokemon to pokemon, and the deeper lore ?
The combat in action RPGs will be more realistic than what turn based RPGs could ever hope to be ...
