It's funny how there's still people that believe the ps4 is going to light japan on fire, when the big games come. Sorry guys, no console is ever going to sell great in japan, ever. The ps4 is going to track way, way behind the ps3, so, even with the big games, it still will be pathetic. Let's be realistic here. It will sell better with big games, but please, just stop acting like it is going to sell millions upon millions... ps3 had amazing titles, and even when it was cheap for the last 5 years, it still never sold amazing numbers. The ps4 will never sell great in japan. Thank goodness for the rest of the world, because it won't need japan.

Who said this or are you generalizing?

Definitely generalizing. I have no idea how he concluded that "doing much better than 2014" equaled to "lighting Japan on fire". Let's be real here. Yeah, you can blame the fact that Japan is more of a handheld market. However, at the same time, you cannot ignore that fact that the PS4's 2014 library was not that appealing to the Japanese audience. If there are no games the Japanese audience wants, then what's the point of buying a PS4? Looking at next year's lineup for Japan, it is substantially better not just in terms of quantity, but also in games that actually appeal to the Japanese gamer.

Now, is the PS4 going to do better than the PS3? Maybe, maybe not... Who knows? But to conclude that the PS4 will never fare better than the PS3 is a very hasty generalization.
