Today I realized the Wii U will never pass the Vita in sales

The Vita isn't selling that great itself, and is in a completely different segment of the market, so needing to compare the Wii U to the Vita is a sign that the Wii U is completely noncompetitive in its own market segment.

But it was something that was supposed to be a good sign for Vita. What it really shows is that there is no sign of good news for the Vita. It's dead, it's been dead, and it will remain dead. 

It is as dead as the Wii U.

Well not dead enough to only sell in the tens of thousands during the holiday season, but certainly not doing great. 

But certainly the Wii U is not alive enough to ever pass a handheld that only sells in ten of thousands during the holiday season.  So yeah not great.
