I have no idea =P The 50% makes no sense. I guess lifetime worldwide sales he means Japan will have 50% of the share, which I would highly doubt.

The idea I like to go with is New 3DS sales Japan vs Australia =P

20m of 47m of the 47m 3DS sales are in Japan.  Seems to be selling far better over there too. Okay it's currently over 40% global marketshare exclusively in Japan ;p

3DS is not at 20m in Japan, it's at 17.6m and that's thru Dec 21, whereas we only have global sales thru Dec 6. We have global sales at 47.9 thru the 6th, adding in global thru the 20th probably gives us about 49m.

17.6/49=36%

On the hardware totals chart, we have

North America-15.01m

Europe-12.67m

Japan-17.30m

Rest of world-2.93m
