Should I get Metroid or Kirbys dream land 3?

As much as I love Metroid as a series, it's hard to get into the first one (or the second one for that matter)...
I used my points to get Kirby's Dream Land 3 for my nephew...
It's a very pleasant game; I don't regret my choice...
