They are in direct competition with 3rd party game developers, so no they won't ever be friendly. The best selling games on competing consoles are molstly 3rd party, so those console makers don't have as much of an issue, but Nintendo make a huge % of their profit from software, and so it would make bad business sense to be overly friendly to the competition.
