It sounds very silly to even phrase it that way. Every company is in business for the same reasons: money and control. But Sony and Nintendo have individuals who are incredibly passionate about gaming, whereas that hasn't always been the case with Microsoft, which has pursued that agenda a little bit more nakedly especially during the latter half of the past gen. But fortunately it seems like with Phil Spencer they finally have a guy in charge who really does "get" gaming, and at least for now it appears like they're giving him the leeway to pursue his vision.
