Not trying to be funny but what does that have to do with his post?

If Nintendo made more than Sony whilst being totally destroyed in sales, then surely they would make even less by going 3rd party?, as they would have to pay royalties to Sony per game sold. Basically i was trying to say that Nintendo would be worse off going 3rd party, i dont think they would sell that many more games than they are at present.

Ahhhh okay I got you. Well why I don't agree that NIN should go 3rd party, but them making more money than Sony last quarter should not be used as the reason imo. I mean the potential consumer base by going 3rd party could bold well and make them even more money via software sales while completely eliminating the cost of hardware.

Some good points there buddy, but i believe that Nintendo having 100% control of their IP, publishing rights etc and the creative freedom of their own hardware (which has mostly been profitable over the years) will always be more financially viable to them than just selling software on other devices. They have a very sustainable business model that even during tougher market climates (Wii U/3DS- Gamecube/GBA) they can still make money. Take Amiibo for example, they are set to make good revenue on those and that is all made possible by being tied in to their unique hardware and innovative controller.
