No, to maximise profits and premium branding. No one said that their marketing is good. Have you ever even taken those surveys? They are not made to increase sales. Club Nintendo has nothing to do with marketing. It's part of research. They're made to increase quality. Club Nintendo is not a marketing machine. No survey was ever done with the expectation that it would somehow increase sales for something. All those firmware updates are how Club Nintendo is working for them.
