World wide is the default one, after all it is the final score so to speak. It is the official number the big three use in financial statements.
I will say Japan is my favorite because of how up front it is. Here are the hardware and software numbers. No need to wait for NPD and then guess based on leaks and approximations. Everywhere else is a mixed bag of guessing and rough estimations based of world wide total.
