When the most (or one of) popular franchise in Japan meet the most popular console (worldwide), everything under 50k would have been frankly disappointing. Moreover, in the holiday period ! And even GTA has always had decent sales in Japan.
Anyway, what will this change on the long-term ? The japanese market has been the most predictable and unchanged market for so long now, anything else than DS/3DS can only have sporadic boost for 1 week or 2 and then fall again back to it's usual average. It would take big games/bundles like that on a monthly basis for a while to make the PS4 a succes over there !
