There is no excuse for future (NSMB/3D World) Mario games to lack online multiplayer

You can't interact with ghost data and ghost data can't interact with you or the level. Mario Kart would be so dumb if the online was only ghost races.

That's the thing. And 3D World was a game so built with multiplayer in mind. I would probably still be playing that game if there was online included.
