Should Nintendo have kept amiibos exclusive to the Wii U?

well, for the 40+ million 3DS users to use the amiibos, they also need to buy the add on = $$$$$$$$$

They did sell around 700k amiibos already ( probably a lot more now ), without having the 3DS/New 3DS support in NA.
