While an unlocked framerate is by no means a deal breaker for me (I adore Bayonetta 2, which targets 60fps but runs in the 35-50 range when the shit hits the fan) I think it's a fair comment to make that there are probably more Wii U games than Xbone/PS4 games that achieve a locked or near locked 60fps.

That's not a knock against the other consoles, just a reflection of different developer priorities.

The PS4 and X1 will no doubt brute force their way past the WiiU in that regard eventually, but i wouldn't be surprised if it's true right now. Would be nice if we could make a list (for comparisons sake), but we'd need a source like DF to validate each. Individuals wouldn't be partically reliable, especially with something like TLOU:R, which spends the majority of its time at 55 - 60fps. I know i never noticed the drops (except for a single area at the University, where looking at a specific corner caused a massive drop. That corner is above the power of men :p).

It shall have to remain a mystery *waves hands mystically*.

The sheer volume of PS4/Xbone games should be much higher than Wii U in the end, so they may get there by sheer force of numbers, but if devs on those systems keep prioritizing fidelity and complexity over 60fps... you're right though, we'll never know for sure.
