I Have A Problem With Finishing Some Games

I have a problem finishing games. I just put them down for too long, then I don't want to try to get back into them and remember what I'm doing, but I don't want to restart, either. I've had Fallout 3 hanging over my head for two years now.

I'm not as bad as my wife, though. She pretty much gets to the last boss of every game but wants to get all the game's extra stuff first, then just kind of stops playing. Every single time. Drives me crazy.
