I think we will see Mario Sunshine HD next year or the year after and that will be it for Mario platformers on Wii U. New Super Mario Bros U, Super Mario 3D World, Mario Maker, Super Mario Sunshine HD is enough. The next mainline 3D Mario will make its debut on Nintendo's next system.
