The thing that sold me on the Wii U had to be Pikmin 3. (seems obvious I think :b). The curious here though is that the Gamepad actually changed the way I understand the essence of Pikmin, starting from the fact that controlling all characters with the touchscreen it's quite fundamental and it would be very tedious with pressing the minus button, point the position that you want to go and then press A. I can't imagine myself playing like that.
It's even more radical in Mission mode, where you need to locate the captains in many places, this means, looking at the screen like at least 15 times in less than minute, especially in the harder stages. It's a bit annoying having to look to the Gamepad constantly, but it results to me better than having to maipulate the buttons of the controller, I think it could ruin the experience for me.
But then Nintendo launched an update for the game, which allows you to control it via the Gamepad's screen entirely (Off-screen gameplay). It has just blown my mind so far, it has just make the gameplay and 100% accurate, it's what I have been looking to make of Pikmin 3 a more competitive game, something that was missing due to the separated dual-screen gameplay.
Now I think that a handheld Pikmin should work excellent, even more than consoles. All thanks to the Gamepad, really.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
