As a wii u owner that loves the Upad and off-tv play, I say remove it. Options are king, there should be smash and mk8 bundles that come w/o the pad. Nintendo can get more aggressive with pricing if they throw in pro controllers instead. Nintendo has already updated the OS so we can control the dashboard and eshop with the pro controller, now just needs another update to allow changing a few settings with the pro controller, and its ready.
Nintendo has to understand its not just the price, there people out there that hate the pad, so a more attractive price point + more attractive controller will help move units. Again options are king..
