| ICStats said: I see everyone thinks it's a success but I don't. I mean, Nintendo deployed special promotional displays for this and Amiibo is taking up lots of Nintendo shelf space. Consider that Amiibo is much cheaper than a game, and I figure profit is 6 or 7 times lower than a game. So, divide the sales by 7 to compare to a game. If a big Nintendo game sold only 100k in US in first 2 weeks esp. during Black Friday it would be considered a massive failure, especially given the shelf space. |
What were ur expectations for Amiibo? In the US it sold at a ratio of 1:1 with its flagship game. Did u really expect every Smash owner to purchase multiple Amiibo's at launch?
Were u honestly expecting something like 2-3 million Amiibos sold in 9 days?
