The gamepad does not add anything to gameplay, last E3 nintendo still trying to found a way to prove value in the gamepad. Guess what people the gamepad is not innovative and failed badly and bogging down the Wiiu. Just like kinect 2.0 on Xbox one except Microsoft was smart enough to drop it or at least over dual skews. The Wiiu need to be at least a $100 cheaper then competition, we all know it cost at least half the cost to make a WiiU. Mario Kart 8 showed the limitation since the system could not handle second screen play on the gamepad.
Ask youself what the best thing about the WiiU??? Answer pretty easy it's the game. Pretty much every game can be played with orher controller then the gamepad. The only reason some game require gamepad to start the game is a system flaw that can be updated. Guys at this rate the WiiU will simply be discontinued it's the worst selling consoles in Nintendo history has fallen being the GameCube. You need radical change if you want to change the faith of this console. 3DS only improved sales with a $80 price drop. The Wiiu release with a $350 retail price for deluxe edition .... Two years after the Wiiu still retail at $299, hardly any retailer were giving out $250 Black Friday deal this year. Xbox one has sold more in one year then Wiiu did in two years and PS4 has double lifetime sales with one year less on the market. WiiU has been left behind by the competition and sales are simply not getting better. Price cut, redesign, new bundles, something got to give you can't simply sit there expecting thing to improve without putting in any effort.

Could the PS3 and 360 "barely handle HD graphics"? This is such a tired point.
I've played many games in which the use of the gamepad has been integral to my experience, such as ZombiU, Nintendo Land, Wind Waker HD, Wii Party U, Wonderful 101, Game & Wario, Resident Evil Revelations, etc. Also, almost every game features off-tv play or some sort of inventory/map on the gamepad, which makes games much more accessible and fun.
PS, the best thing about ANY console should be the games. If the best thing about the Wii U wasn't the games, I would be extremely concerned.
