People need to STOP asking for a Wii U with no Gamepad

No it wouldn't. 

Why not? It has most of the highest rated games this gen and at that price would be attractive to both casuals/families on a budget as well as to hard core gamers as a secondary system alongside a ps4/one. I know I'd be tempted at that price.
