Indeed, but for a freeware I can't complain much. Wish they had the style of Cross Days, for example, but that's a whole japanese company behind it.

Can't disagree with the freeware part.

A few indies do have great design in VNs though, a notable example would be Hanako Games (but they hire consultant for design it seems)
