I don't know if it was part of the agreement, but it's obvious that Nintendo had no creative control whatsoever. The agreement probably just brought a few exclusives to Wii U as long as Nintendo would take care of the publishing and promoting in some territories. That being said, not letting Nintendo have creative control was a huge mistake. Not only do I think Nintendo's influence would have resulted in better games, but I bet anyone that EAD Tokyo, if given the chance could probably make the best Sonic game we've seen in the last 20 years.
