To correct you a little... the PS4 isnt doing ok. It is, by all reasonable relative measures, doing badly.

I love people saying it is doing okay, Just because it is closely beating the Wii U doesn't make it good. Infact everything but the 3DS is doing badly and relatively to the DS. 3DS is also doing badly. 

Relatively speaking... considering the shrinkage of the market in Japan, and then comparing it to the results last generation, the PS4 is in fact doing okay.   The reason why I was so shocked was because the Xbox One is doing even poorer (as a ration of 360 at this point in time) than the competition.  Its doing exceptionally poor.   The PS4 is still traking favorabley compared to the much mangled PS3 launch

It took the PS3 8 months to sell 1 million in Japan.  The PS4 is doing just fine relatively.
