Let me see if I understand this clearly:
Terminator 1: Save John Conner in order to end the war.
Terminator 2: We can stop Judgement Day and prevent the war from ever happening.
Terminator 3: We couldn't actually stop Judgement Day. We just delayed it.
Terminator Salvation: Kill Kyle Reese in order to prevent the events of the first movie from ever happening.
Terminator Genesys: Yes, we actually can prevent Judgement Day, making everything after the first Terminator completely pointless.
I guess I like the Terminator movies individually but as a series, it's not very good. Nothing is ever actually resolved. It seemed like Terminator 2 was supposed to have resolved everything and that's how it should have been.
