It all depends on how many Star Fox fans you think aren't already committed to buying Wii U and is essentially factored into the Wii U baseline, with obviously a one or 2 week bump when the game releases. 2 Star Fox games on GC didn't do much for GC, and the best of those two games was early in the generation when it could have been one of the games to popularise GC. The 2005 game was did not review so well, And by then it was all over for GC anyway.

Star Fox can help Wii U maintain current sales, but it's not going to kick sales up a notch. In reality unless LoZ doesn't do it there's nothing Nintendo can do to improve the situation this generation. All the other big guns have been fired and we have seen the result with a 15% market share for the 8th gen home consoles on Black Friday.

With what's coming down the line for PS4 and Xb one for next year, LoZ and Star Fox will need to be all they can be just to keep that 15%.
