What actual concrete evidence is there that it is undertracked by at least 475k.... That's what I'm interested in.

The numbers are most likely off, but to throw out a number is just as reckless.

It is purely based on VGC estimations.

After 55 weeks:

Wii: November 25th 2006 - December 08th 2007 = 16,621,029

PS4: November 16th 2013 - November 29th 2014 = 16,146,005

If PS4 is indeed the fastest selling console of all-time, then why is PS4 475.000 behind Wii according to VGC?

Well honestly there's a flaws using VGC estimations... They're just that "estimations". For all we know, PS4 could be only off by 100k.. or the Wii estimations were off. I take the comment from Layden with a grain of salt. I don't even see that comment holding for December, because I don't think the PS4 will outsell the Wii's second December. Also, It's not like Sony came out and gave a solid number on how many consoles sold. If they did, then those numbers could be used to make corrections to the estimations on VGC.
