Is Nintendo fine with funding a game that will probably lose money? That's the question in a nutshell, really. How important is it that they have an M-rated franchise at this point? Have things changed from the start of the generation, when they still thought they could win over gamers on other systems?

It might even come down to how cheap of a quote Platinum gives them on a budget plan for Bayonetta 3. If they heavily lean on reusing assets, how much money would that save? Nintendo is very pragmatic, no matter what people say about them doing it for the love of the game or whatever. I think Platinum would have to submit a very favorable budget plan.
