The thing with 1080p/4k is that 4k looks nice yes, but it's not like 1080p looks terrible after switching back like going from HD to SD does.
A lot of broadcast signals are still not even 1080p, most are still 720p to boot, lol. It will be a look time before TV switches over to 4K.
It's like CD from cassette ... a lot of people felt that was a tangible jump, but CD to Audio DVD or Super Audio CD ... while it's better yes, most people simply didn't care.
