And I imagine if the PS3 gets a price cut this year, games like NGS are going to get a noticable boost from it.

The PS3 is already sold for $200 cheaper in Japan than in the US. If the PS3 cannot sell for $400 in Japan, what is the magic price point that makes it attractive.

While this is beyond the scope of this thread, if a $400 PS3 cannot do well in Japan, why is a price drop of between $100 to $200 expected to revive PS3 sales in the United States?

The Economy is in a worse state in Japan than the US.  So the PS3 has the same "price feel" to the Japanese as to the US, even if the exchange rates work differently.

If you do the math, the PS3 is still selling at a higher per capita rate than the US.  Their population is 127m  (and declining) versus our 300m (and increasing).

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
