| Bursche said: Im really surprised that no one has decided to come up with this yet, so I will do it. A 16 man single elimination tournament with two divisions. The winner's of Division A and Division B will face each other in the final round to decide who is VGChartz Best Brawler! This is our first attempt at a tourny so there may be a few bumps here and there so bear with, it will only get better. And if successful, many more tourneys can be made. Here are the rules: 1) Use the SAME character the entire tourny 2) Items are allowed. Medium setting with everything on. (can/will be changed in later tourneys) 3) The stage will be Final Destination to reduce variability 4) Stock match, 5 Lives 5) One vs. One only. Replays are encouraged to taken and be sent to me. The loser MUST send me a PM saying that the match took place and they have lost in case no other evidence is present. This makes sure that the match was fair. Use the honor system and tell if you lost, this is all fun and games. 6) The time of the first round will be Saturday April 26th. The two combatants should verify with each other each other's time zones and availibility for that day to guarentee a match. If you CANNOT play on that day, do not participate in tournament. If you have something come up, PM me AND your combatant as early as possible so we can attempt to find a replacement. If you do not show and do not tell that you are going to miss, you will forfeit your chance to play in the next tournament and maybe even following tournaments. Be on TIME! If you break any rules, one or both of the combatants may be disqualified and/or forfeit their eligibility in future tourneys. Please only participate if you are serious and will show, this is the major decider of the success of this and future tourneys.
Please post your friend code/ username / time zone/ Character and the hours you would prefer. I will composite a list for this and add a bracket to show who is playing who. I recommend adding everyone who is participating, and even try to play them before hand for practice/fun to see who is good.
Have fun and lets see who is the best brawler! |
The rules for this tournament are lame and boring.
1) No thank you. I like playing with all characters. I may feel like playing one match with Mario, another as Bowser, and another as Game'N'Watch. I don't want to be limited to a single character.
2) Items? What's the point of having a tournament to see who's the best if you introduce so many random elements into the game?
3) Final destination heavily favors projectile spammers. A variety of stages should be used including stages like Hyrule Temple with multiple areas to fight in.
5) You can't take replays if they're too long which is usually what happens in Stock 5 matches. If you've played online for any length of time you should've noticed this.
Also, Single Elimination is the absolute worst format for a tournament because all it takes is one match of ill-fortune or a single mistake to be out of the tournament.
I am definitely NOT signing up for this. When someone organizes a tournament that makes sense, let me know.
